Brown County Adopt-a-Road Program

Adopt a Road and make a difference!

Help keep thousands of bags of litter off county roads and preserve the beauty of Brown County

The Adopt-a-Road program is a litter reduction campaign designed to remove litter debris from county roads and improve the quality of the environment.

Adopt-a-Road is a great way for service organizations, local businesses and families to have a positive impact on Brown County — and have the satisfaction of knowing that YOU can make a difference… one piece of litter at at time!

How you can participate:

  • Adopt a minimum one-mile stretch of road in Brown County
  • Commit to keeping your road litter-free for two years (or more)
  • Pick up litter at least 4 times per year
  • Children under age 12 are not permitted to participate for safety reasons

As a volunteer, you will receive:

  • Guidance and support for successful cleanups
  • Safety guidelines
  • Safety vests, gloves, trash bags and caution signs
  • Pick up of bagged trash… just call the Recycling Center when ready
  • An official "Adopt-a-Road sign recognizing the efforts of your group will be placed on each end of your adopted area

To get started just complete the form below. A signed waiver must be on file for each participant.
